Vernal, Utah

On Tuesday one of the Project Managers in the office came up to me with a face that I wasn't too sure about :) She asked me if I wanted to go out in the field and do a survey with one of the other archaeologists. I couldn't pass up a day out of the office to be outside in the nice weather! Wednesday morning we left expecting to work about a 16 hour day, but you really have to be flexible in this business. Things change all the time. We drove down to Vernal and the first site we had to walk was 40 acres. After the first site we thought we had to do one more site which was 5 acres, but thats when things changed. The Project Manager called and said that the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) wanted us to walk 40 acres instead of the 5 acres on the second site, but we didnt have the Fieldwork Authorization form, that you need to have to work. So we ended up staying the night in Vernal and we did the second 40 acres the next day. I dont know how archaeologists travel and stay in hotels all the time because I was BORED out of my mind. It didnt help that we didnt think we'd be staying the night so I wasnt prepared, but I still dont know how they do it. The above picture is on our way to our first site. It was so nice out there and the weather was perfect! I even got a little bit of sun!! YAY!

Las Vegas

My friends and I had plans to go to Las Vegas this weekend for my friend Jenn's 21st birthday. Plans ended up changing, but I still went to Vegas with my friend Holly. We stayed at her parents house and it was a great weekend to just get away and have fun! I had friends from California that were going to be there this past weekend as well, so I was really excited to see everyone! We went out, walked the strip, went dancing and just hung out. The weather was perfect, the company was amazing, and the laughs and fun never stopped. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Easter

I got a call from my dad around 10:00 pm on Friday night telling me that my sister, Kelly, thought it would be a good idea for them (my mom and dad) to fly me home the next day for Easter, so he was calling to make sure that was ok with me. I couldn't believe he even had to ask!! :) He could have just made the flight and of course I would have been there!! I don't think anything can keep me away from being home with the family!!! It was a very short trip, but I loved every second of it!! We really didn't do much and I was totally ok with that! I've been working a lot lately and needed a weekend to relax. This was for sure the perfect weekend. I didn't even go out, which is so not like me, because I was way too exhausted and needed my sleep. Easter Sunday was awesome!! The whole family was together and there were lots of laughs and of course lots of entertainment from Aubrey :) She was all smiles the whole day and she looked so dang cute in her Easter dress!! Thank you mom and dad for flying me home!!! Thank you Kelly for suggesting it!!!! I couldn't have asked for a better weekend at a better time!

Red Rose

I got a beautiful red rose left on my car this morning. I once again have no idea who it was. I was convinced last time that someone put the flowers on the wrong car because stuff like this doesn't happen to me, but now I'm not sure. I'm going to go insane trying to figure out who's been doing this!!
