Archaeologist for 2 days
Some of you may know what I do for work and I'm sure many of you don't. I am a program coordinator for an Environmental Consultant company, meaning I work with archaeologists, biologists, palaeontologists, ornithologists, planners, etc. I am the program coordinator for the whole office, but I work closely with the archaeologists. For the past two days I was able to go out on a survey and be an archaeologist. The survey was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. Basically on a survey, you walk a straight line and look for archaeological artifacts. We found tons of obsidian, lots of glass from the 1800s and early 1900s and something from WWII. How cool!! It was really awesome that I was able to go out with one of the archaeologists because it made me understand more of what they do and what goes on out in the field. I have been working for this company for 3 years and this was my first time going out on a survey. I have gone out and helped with recording sites that we have found and I've gone out and done a lot of admin stuff, but I have never actually gone on a survey and I really enjoyed it! Maybe since I now have a tiny bit of experience, they will let me go out again! :)

Twilight
Last night I went to the midnight showing of Twilight with Kallie, Erikka and Kimber. I couldn't believe how many people showed up for the midnight show. The line when we got there at 11 was outside of the theater and back at least 5 stores. Thank goodness we all went in sweats, sweatshirts, and Uggs! Tickets sold out so fast that some theaters even did a 2:30 showing. The three girls that I went with had all read the book(s), but I hadn't. Two of the girls that read the book liked the movie and one of them didn't at all. I thought the movie was pretty good and I'm now even thinking about reading the books. If you know me, that is a HUGE deal because I don't like reading at all!Monday, November 17, 2008
Stressed!
I have to speak next Sunday and I'm already starting to stress about it!! I HATE speaking with a passion! Don't EVER tell the executive secretary in the Ward that you haven't spoken before because he'll tell the Bishopric and then you'll end up speaking 2 weeks later.

United Way Gala
I love getting all dressed up and since it doesn't happen very often I couldn't pass up the opportunity to volunteer at the United Way Gala yesterday. I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to volunteer at all, but getting dressed up made it that much better! :)One of my good friends is an intern at United Way and they were putting on a Gala to raise money and to honor a few women. She asked me and two other of our friends to volunteer for a few hours to help her out.
The night, for the most part, ended up being a lot of fun! There were a few people that thought they could talk down to us, but other than that the night ended up going well!

Spark
There is a new place in town called Spark. Everyone keeps telling me about it so a few of us went to check it out. They serve fancy non-alcoholic drinks and food which is pretty good! I think its a little over priced, but that's just me. So if anyone is in the Provo area and is wanting a lounge atmosphere, Spark is the place to go!

Happy Birthday Dad!!
Happy Birthday to the best dad in the world!!! I know everyone thinks their dad is the best, but really, MINE is :) Here are just a FEW reasons why I love him and think he is the best dad EVER!
He is an amazing husband and is an example of how a wife should be treated. I hope I find someone as wonderful, caring, funny and compassionate as my dad!
He always makes time to spend with the family. He makes time to go to all and travel to all the sporting events to be our biggest fans, and is always there when we need himSaturday, November 1, 2008
What? Co-ed?
Today was my first day of water polo and I was pretty excited. A little nervous since I haven't played in a long time, but more excited than anything. Chelsea and I both walked into the pool to find that our team is co-ed. We both had no idea so it kind of shocked us. I've never played on a co-ed team before so we'll see how this goes. The boys were not easy on us girls at all! Every guy that I defended or every guy that defended me was really good! I was setting hole (position right in front of the goal), which was not on purpose since its a hard position to play, and the guy that was defending hole was intense!! I didn't think I was going to last more than 5 seconds with this guy on me. The practice ended up going a little better than I thought it would, but I have a lot of swimming to do to get into the shape I need to play again!
Pictures from Canoe Trip
If anyone is interested, here is a link for pictures from the canoe trip. This isnt even close to all of the pictures, but they are all the ones of the fam and all of the group shots.
