I Have AMAZING Cousins!!

Last night I got a text from Doug asking me if I wanted to come over for pie that he had made. I was walking into the gym to take a Zumba class, so I couldn't go. He said "where do you Zumba? I heard its fun." Little did I know that he was sitting at my condo trying to figure out where I was. Sneaky huh?! It totally worked, I had NO idea that he was scheming. After my class, which was fantastic, I was walking out with my friend Holly. We stopped right outside the gym and were talking. I looked towards my car and noticed there was something on it. At first I thought I was looking at someone elses car because who would put something on my car? As I walked up to my car, I knew right away who was responsible for the decorations. I called Doug, and Elizabeth answered the phone. She was SO CUTE and kept giggling when I asked her about my car. She asked if I was out of the gym and then told me about the pictures she drew and the letters and hearts that she put on my car. I wish I could have recorded the conversation since it was so cute!! Thank you Robinson family for making my whole night!! You guys are so awesome!!

Football

I LOVE going to football games. I now regret not getting an all sports pass or just season passes for the BYU football season. The past two Saturdays have been awesome because I've been able to go to both games. The first game, Jonny invited me to go with him and I was so stoked!! BYU didn't play so hot that game, and we lost, so there is only one picture I have of Jonny smiling. The other pictures he wasn't too happy in :)
This past Saturday my brother wasn't going to the game, and he has a season pass, so he gave me his ticket. How awesome of a brother do I have?! :) I was able to find a few friends to go with and I also was able to meet up with Lisa, who was one of my Young Women's Presidents. It was so fun to be at the game, see Lisa, and just be in the football atmosphere. I'm so excited for the rest of the football season and I hope to get to many more of the games!!

Happy Jonny

Not so happy Jonny :)

Me and Lisa before she was able to go out on the field...LUCKY! :)

Nichole, Me and Kristin. We had a lot of fun at the game together

Perspective

This morning I woke up totally annoyed by a guy. I shouldn't have been annoyed, but since the same thing has been happening for a year, it really starts to get annoying!! About an hour after I'm venting to my cousin about this I go over to a friends house to find that he's taken enough pills to OD and I'm trying to get him to the hospital before something serious happens, and without anyone in the ward finding out, because I don't want the gossip and rumors to start flying. As I was leaving the hospital a couple hours later, since this guys mom was there, I got to thinking about how lucky I am to have the life I have. It's amazing how fast your perspective of the day, week, month, even minute can change in just one second.
Today I went through a lot of emotions in a pretty small period of time and I'm so glad to end the day with grateful!! I'm so grateful for my wonderful family and friends and my life!! Thank you all for being a part of my life and helping me become who I am today!

Not for me?

I really don't know if this online dating thing is for me. It seriously scares the crap out of me and I don't know why. I had someone ask me on a date this week, and luckily this week...ok or maybe just the two days he asked about...I'm busy. I wasn't lying either, just to put that out there! :) The two days that worked for him really don't work for me. Maybe I should just tell him now I'm a chicken and to give up!! :)

Weight

My weight is something that I've always struggled with. I try not to, because this is how I am and I will NEVER be skinny like my sisters, Aunts and cousins are, but I still do struggle. I wish I was skinny, but I'm just not built like that.
I have my ups and downs with my confidence, but it took a slight plummet this past week. I don't know why, but weight has been a lot of topic of conversations lately. First, I was talking to a trainer at Gold's Gym who was trying to get me to sign up with him. He did a free workout with me and told me "You have really strong abs, we just need to find them under there." Ummm, thanks?! Is that a dis or a compliment? That was a while ago, but it sometimes still creeps into my head. Needless to say, I didn't sign up to work with him after I felt really dumb and really fat.
A few days ago someone made a comment to me about my weight. I know the person who said this to me wasn't meaning this comment to be mean or rude, but it kind of bothered me. I was told as I was sitting on her bed eating carrots "Lins, I don't get it. You eat so healthy and exercise every day and look like you do. Me and Amy (changed the name so I don't give away who said this) eat like crap and don't work out and look like this" Well thank you!! I think I felt about 10x bigger at that moment and pretty much didn't know what to say.
Last night at FHE I was talking to one of the girls in my Ward who I think is gorgeous and I would kill to look like her!! She was talking to a guy on the phone and he said something about a girl that he used to date and how skinny she was. She asked if he only dated really skinny girls and the guys reply was "Why? are you self conscious about that" She said "No, I've just been told by other guys that I'm bigger than the typical girl that they usually date" The guy then responded with "You're not THAT big." If the guy was standing right there I would have punched him and not felt bad about it at all!!!! This girl is a size 4 or 5 at the VERY biggest and is seriously gorgeous. I can't believe she even gave the guy the time of day after that and went on a date with him. She deserves SO much better than someone saying that to her!
Why does weight matter so much to guy? Why does the world make it that you're not good enough unless your skinny? Why can't I just be comfortable with myself the way I am? Why have I been told that I might not get any dates because of my weight? One of these days, someone will look past my weight! One of these days I'll be comfortable with myself. Maybe that's why I'm doing all these races. I'm proving to everyone, you don't have to be skinny to be active and to have fun!!

Camp Yuba Relay Triathlon

WE DID IT!!!! I swam 1mile, Heather biked 25 miles and Noelle ran 6 miles.
I was so nervous for the swim this morning. I have been training, but I really didn't have as much faith in myself as I probably should have. I kept telling Noelle and Heather not to hate me when I was the last person out of the water. I had to swim around 3 buoys that were kind of placed in a circle, twice. After the first time around the buoys I was feeling great and wondered why I was stressing so much. I got around the first and second buoys for the second time and then started feeling tired and I started stressing. The stressing and the mental games I was playing with myself did not help AT ALL!!! I rolled over on my back, started doing backstroke, and calmed myself down. After a minute on my back, I rolled back over and was fine and was able to finish my part of the race. Its amazing how mental games can take over and you just have to beat them! Like I said before, I thought I was going to be dead last out of the water, but I wasn't!! YAY!! I was in the middle of the pack. The fasted girl swam the mile in 22 minutes and I was about 10 minutes behind her. That is a lot, but considering people were coming out of the water over 20 minutes behind me, it made me feel a little better about my time.
Heather was next to bike. She took Doug's phone with her on her ride and we kept my phone back with us. Both of our phones have GPS's on them, so it was really fun to track Heather to see where she was and how fast she was going. Heather doesn't feel like she did a good job, but I think she did great. We weren't going for time, we were just there for fun and to finish!!
Next, it was Noelle's turn. We were able to see Noelle coming around the hill and watch her for her last mile. It was so fun to cheer her on a little bit and have her run up to us with a big smile on her face! Heather and I joined her at the very end and we were able to finish as a team.
The race was a lot of fun and I'm so glad I was able to have this experience! I couldn't have asked for a better team to do this with! I'm already looking forward to next year, as long as I can get the other two to do it again with me :)

Team HLN right before the start of the triathlon

The start of the tri. I was getting kicked and lots of water in my mouth right here :)

Girls Night Out With Team HLN

Tonight me, Heather and Noelle went to pre-pre registration for the relay triathlon and then had a girls night out after. I think we need to make this girls night out a monthly thing because tonight was all laughs!! We really didn't do much, but it was such a great night!! We did get these freaking amazing glasses for the triathlon though. I was debating about putting the picture up already because I didn't want to ruin the surprise (LOL!! JK!), but who could pass up putting a picture up like this?! :)

Aren't these glasses just AMAZING?!? :)

Reading with the man outside of Nordstrom Rack

Wearing our clown shoes...they were size 17 in mens. You should have seen me trying to walk around in these things. Hilarious!

True Cougar Tri

I found a triathlon in a month that I'm totally signing up for!! Its only $25 and its at BYU, which is basically 3 blocks away from where I love. YES!!! What else could be better?! So excited!

What fun would life be if I wasn't training for something? Its official, I am on a Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay team. For those of you that don't know what a Ragnar Relay team is, its a team of 12 people that run a 188 mile race from Logan to Park City. My dad, brother and sister have been on teams for the past 2 years and every year and I keep saying I'm going to do it also and then never do because I don't have a team. Noelle asked me about being on a team for the 2010 race and I couldn't pass it up. I just printed up a training schedule and the hard core, every day running, starts on February 1, but as soon as the triathlons are over I'll start running at least 2-3 times a week with cross training on the other days. I'm pretty excited and nervous all at the same time!!

Are you kidding me?!?!?

I am beyond upset right now!! I went to sign up for the Daybreak Triathlon today because I finally have the money to sign up and its full. I have been training for this and telling everyone about it and now I can't do it?!? AAAAAAAAAAAAAA I'm so mad right now!
I'm now looking into other triathlons before the season is over and just found 2. They are each $100 and I don't know if I really want to pay that much, especially since one is in St. George and one is in San Diego. I would love to do them, but I would also have to pay for travel on top of the triathlon. I guess if I really want to do do them I'll be paying that much though.
