I was going to do the Lake Arrowhead Triathlon in September but it was cancelled "due to the economy." I'm sure that means that there weren't enough people signing up, which I'm really bummed about. Since the tri was cancelled I stopped training for it and just did my normal workout routine instead. Recently I was talking to my friend Noelle and we started talking about the Yuba Lake relay triathlon. She has been training for a half marathon so the 6 mile run for the tri would be nothing for her. Then I had the thought to have Heather do the 25 mile bike. I grew up with Heather always biking and she was really good at it. I ran the idea by Heather and she thought it sounded fun. I have recently started training for the mile swim and Heather brought her road bike back from AZ and has been training for the bike. I'm so excited that we have such a fun team to do the relay!! I can't wait until September 12 to do the triathlon with Noelle and Heather!

A very much needed weekend of fun

Life for me lately has been non stop! I'm usually really happy about that and love it, but the past few weeks have been just a little much and I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed! I've been leaving the house between 7 am and 8 am and don't get home until at least 9 pm or 10pm. I need a weekend of fun and de-stressing. So far every idea I've had so far isn't working out, so if anyone needs some fun in their life let me know!! :)

Improving

I was having a conversation with a friend the other day and the topic of us dating came up. We got on this conversation because my Bishop's wife keeps bugging us both about dating each other. We were laughing because we both hear the same things from her a couple times a month. I hear all the time from her "you two should date" or "you two would have a lot of fun together" or "he's such a nice guy." I would agree with 2 out of 3 of those statements :) The one that I don't agree with is that me and this person should date. We are great friends, but there has never been any interest…from either of us. So as me and this person got on the conversation about dating he said something to me that hit me pretty hard. He said "I want to date/marry someone who makes me want to be a better person and we are just too much alike." I kind of looked at him not knowing what to say and he took my look as "I don't understand." He then proceeded to tell me again, but this time a little more bluntly. He said, yet again "I want to date/marry someone who makes me want to be a better person" and then he stopped, looked at me and said "and you don't do that." OUCH!!! I like when people are open and honest with me, but at this point I was wishing he was not open with me and had just kept his mouth shut or just kept it to the nicer version :) I went home that night wondering if I was a bad example or a bad person. Am I someone my parents would be proud of? Am I living the way I'm supposed to? Should I be doing things in my life differently? Where could I improve myself? As much as the end of the night kind of killed my mood and I started being really hard and down on myself I've been trying to use it as a motivator lately. I know there are things and places in my life where I can improve. There is always room for improvement...right?! :)

Bike Ride

Today Doug and I went on a bike ride with the kids, while Heather was at work. We went about 10 miles and the weather was perfect for it!! We rode along the Provo River down to Utah Lake, then down to the Provo airport and back. It was a lot of fun just to get out and do something different! Thanks for the invite Dougie!!

To Do Or Not To Do Update

I keep meaning to blog about this and then I get busy or forget. We'll I'm sitting here at work bored out of my mind, doing nothing, so I thought I'd update you all...especially since I keep getting questions about it. So the answer is TO DO. After about 5 times of trying to sign up, I actually did it. I've been on the website for a few weeks now and I'm not too sure what I think about it. I'm still trying to give it a chance though. I'll keep ya updated on how things go :)

Lake Arrowhead

As many of you know, I look forward to my Lake Arrowhead trip every year!! I've been going every year since I was a little girl, and a summer would not be complete without a trip!! I was able to spend 5 days up there this year and LOVED every second of it! The past few years I haven't had much time up there because of work and living in Utah. This year I made sure that I had enough time to take at least a week trip! A lot of you are on Facebook, and I've already posted a TON of pictures on there, but for those of you who aren't I'll just post a few pictures on here from my trip. I wish I could take another week off and join my family again this week!! I'm already excited for next year!

Happy 4th of July

This 4th of July was probably one of the BEST 4ths I've ever had. I love the 4th of July so much and look forward to the fireworks every year! It's one of my favorite holidays. My family decided to make what we did, this year, a tradition, so I guess I'll just have to be home every 4th. Bummer huh?! :) Here are the highlights of the day...
(I would write out more, but its time to get ready for church Ü)
  • Surf City5k Run/Walk
  • Breakfast with the whole family after the race
  • Riding my parents new tandem bike to and from the race with Katie, which was HILARIOUS!!!!
  • Huntington Beach Parade
  • Pool party in LB with two of my closest friends
  • BBQ with the whole fam and the Hoskins
  • Fireworks on the beach

I don't think it could get much better than this!!!! Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!!
