Ward Opening Social

I was just called to be the Activities Committee co-chair and for a few weeks I will continue to be the Ward Prayer Co-Chair until they find someone else.  This past week was my first activity and I think it went really well!! Usually for the opening social we meet at Rock Canyon Park, have a BBQ, socialize and maybe play a few games.  This year me and my co-chair wanted to do something a little different.  I had a thought to do a bounce house, which turned into ideas of a boxing ring, which was approved!  I was so excited.  Toby (my co-chair who I LOVE) found a park and this time we decided to do pizza.  Its easy and different. The opening social was a lot of fun and we had probably the biggest turn out at this opening social than we ever have since I've been in the ward.

KISS Concert

Yes, you read the title correctly, I went to a KISS concert!!  I never realized how DISGUSTING Gene Simmons tongue is!  Every time he would do something with his tongue, I wanted to scream at him to put it back in his mouth! :)  Other than that, the concert was a lot of fun! Thanks Kristen for the free 17th row tickets!

Congratulations Ross and Kiera

This weekend my friend and coworker got married up Millcreek Canyon, which made for such a pretty wedding!!  It was so fun being able to see friends who I haven't seen in a really long time and being able to catch up.  Congratulations Kiera!!  I'm so glad I was able to be a part of your special day!

Rylee Madyson Ward

I don't have time to write much, but wanted to post a few pictures of my cute little niece

It's funny that I wrote the post that I did last night, and this morning I got a call from Anna telling me to head to the hospital because she was about to have a c-section. Hopefully I wasn't the one to jinx everything ;)

Welcome to the world Rylee Madyson!  I love you!

Falling Behind

I have majorly fallen behind on my blogging.  I know its only been 10 days, but I feel like I've had a lot go on that I haven't had time to blog about.  I do have a REALLY good reason though!  For the past week and a half I've gone straight from work to the hospital to visit my sister in law and try to keep her sane!! :)
Last Thursday night I got a call from my sister in law, Anna, who was in tears.  She tells me that she's not feeling good, she's feeling a lot of pressure from the baby and is having contractions (she was almost 31 weeks at this point)  She wasn't able to get a hold of Stephen, who was at work, so then called me.  I went and picked her up from work and we met Steve at the hospital. We went straight to labor and delivery where her PA had told her to go.  After lots of questions about how she was doing, how far along she was, and all the insurance information was gotten, the nurse checked Anna and told her that she was dilated to a 3, 100% effaced and her water bag was bulging. Not too long after her doctor came in and checked her again.  When he checked her, he could feel baby Rylee's foot. Her doctor said that she was going to have Rylee that night and it was going to have to be a c-section since she was breach.  The doctor and nurse were really good with answering all of Steve and Anna's questions, telling them things about the NICU, about how small Rylee would be (3lbs), but there was just so much to take in. Since the doctor had us all convinced that Steve and Anna were going to be parents that night, my sister, brother in law, niece, and brother drove up so they could be here for Steve and Anna and also to get to meet their niece.  3 days later mom flew up to also be here for support.  Dad came up a few days later for meetings that were already scheduled and then spent the rest of the night at the hospital with Anna and Steve. We were all here and all ready for this baby to show her face to the world.  The doctors said that Rylee was going to be very little, but she would be ok.
Well here we are a week and a half later and there is still no baby, which is a good thing!  Anna is still in the hospital on complete bed rest.  She is not aloud to even sit up right now.  The doctors were able to stop, for the most part, Anna's contractions and get the labor to stop.  Its a good thing that Rylee has had more time to "cook," but being on bed rest, not being able to sit up, and still being in some pain is not easy! Anna has been doing so much better in the past few days!  Today they even took out her IV, which she is LOVING.  She HATES needles!  The wont put her IV back in until she's getting ready to deliver.  The doctors wont let her leave the hospital until after the baby is born, so I have gotten to know that hospital WELL! In 2 weeks they are going to take Anna off of the medications that stop the labor and let everything progress naturally.  So if Rylee hasn't shown her face within the next two weeks, I'm sure it wont be long after that!

Bridal Veil

I watched Doug and Heather's kids tonight and instead of just hanging out at the house I thought it would be fun to go on a little walk with the kids. We all had a good time on the hike and Elizabeth said "next time I'm going to bring my swimming suit" I just love and adore these 3 cute kids!!

Utah State Fair

I work really closely with the Crystal Inn because of work.  Since I give them business they sometimes call me and ask me if I want free tickets to events around SLC.  The tickets I got this time were to the Utah State Fair.  I was excited about going, but became even more excited when I heard there was going to be a hypnotist show going on one of the nights.  Me, Holly and Kyle got together one night and headed up to SLC.  We enjoyed some fair food, walking around, seeing the animals and we LOVED the hypnotist show!!  I got called up to by hypnotized, but I didn't go under.  As much as I thought it would have been funny to be on stage, I had a ton of fun watching. Thanks for going with me Holls and Kyle!

I just love these guys!!  I told these guys I was going to dress up for our friends Hawaiian birthday party, but then when I found out no one else was dressing up, I didn't either.  I love that these 3 still showed up dressed up.

Joe thinks he's just so funny! :) He was playing with my ear
while our friend was trying to take the picture, so I hit him
Hence the mouth open :)

Joe's "bra" was bugging him, so he took my
jacket and I took his bra :)

Dutch Oven Dinner

Dutch oven dinners up the canyon are always a lot of fun!  A group of us went to a park that's a few miles up the canyon last night to have dinner and hang out.  It was my first night away from the hospital, so I was feeling a little bad that I was out with all my friends while Steve and Anna were sitting in the hospital bored out of their minds.  I'm glad I was able to go though and spend some time with friends who I felt like I hadn't seen in forever :)

BYU Football Game

Before heading to the BYU vs U of W game a few of us had a bbq and then took some fun pictures.  We didn't get any pictures at the game, but at least we got a few before hand! :)

Hollywood Party

There are sometimes some pretty creative parties around here.  Last night was one that was a lot of fun. It was Hollywood theme so there was a limo dropping people off at the red carpet, you got your picture taken on the red carpet, there was a "bar" (we are in Utah, so of course it was non-alcoholic), there was a DJ and there was a "photo booth."  I couldn't believe at how many people showed up last night, but it made for a great time and also it was awesome to meet new people!
Love these 3 girls! Marissa, Maddie (aka Ghetto), and Ashley
are all in my ward
My awesome friends! Sharidan, Kallie, and Kristen
