Daddy/Daughter Bike Ride

I love having daddy/daughter time with my dad! I adore my dad to death and I think he is the funniest person I know. Today after I got back from my run, my dad and I hopped on some bikes and rode to HB Main Street to get some lunch, which was fantastic! We took the long way back, along the beach, and enjoyed the amazing weather. Today's afternoon couldn't have been any better!

Sunny California

This was the view while on my run today. How could you not just LOVE Huntington Beach?! :)

Proud Older Sister

I am one proud sister today! I've seen Mady run in cross country meets, but I've never been able to go to one of her track meets. Today was the first one that I was home for and could go to and I am so glad I was able to go! She kicked some MAJOR butt!! Mady wasn't happy with her time, but I'd kill to have a time like hers! She ran 1/2 a mile in 2:33.

First lap around she was in first, but had a girl on her tail

As soon as she turned the corner she left the girls in the dust. Mady in first with the second place girl FAR behind her!

Disneyland

I love having a Disneyland pass so that I can go with Mom, Kelly and Aubrey each time I'm home. Today was a lot of fun and Aubrey seemed to enjoy herself a lot! She would whine when we would get off a ride that she really liked. I think today was even better than the trip to Disneyland a few weeks ago, which I didn't realize was possible! Disneyland has never been so much fun!

Aubrey's Laugh

I love Aubrey's laugh so much! It always puts a smile on my face!

Kelly's Birthday

I flew home this morning to be with my sister for her birthday. Here are a few pictures from throughout the day. Hope you had a good birthday Kell!

Happy Birthday Kelly!

Happy Birthday to my amazing, beautiful, witty, and hilarious sister! I hope you have a great day Kell! I'm so glad I could be home to celebrate it with you!! I LOVE YOU!!!

The Lakeshow

A few of us tried to get tickets to go to the Laker vs Jazz game last night, but we could only get nose bleed tickets for $60. So instead of going and spending that money to sit so far up that everyone looked like ants, we decided to do a Laker Party. We all had a fun time cheering on our team, eating pizza, and visiting with each other. Way to go Lakers for beating the Jazz even without Kobe or Bynum! Now the Jazz have NO excuses! :)

Life

Have you ever struggled with something that you didn’t think you’d struggle with? Something hit you a LOT harder than you thought it would. That’s totally what happened to me, and it’s bugging me! I don’t know why I’m being affected like I am! This same thing has now happened to me 2 in the past few years and both times I knew it was coming and was totally fine with the situation, until it became real. Once it became real then I had a hard time with it. I just wish I understood why things affect me like they do, especially since I’m ok with it one day and having a hard time with it the next.

Motivation for Me

I've been debating about posting these next 2 things for a long time. I didn't want people to think I was bragging or trying to make myself look good, BUT since I pretty much use this as a journal I'm going to post this for ME. So if you want, you can totally skip over this! :)

#1. About 2 weeks ago I had my review for work, which I was kind of nervous about. I feel like I've been working hard, but I didn't know if it was going noticed or not. My review was supposed to be on a Friday and I get a call from my supervisor about 30 minutes before its supposed to start telling me that she's not done and that she'd have to move it back a little bit. No problem, not a big deal. I then get another call from my supervisor right before I'm supposed to go in again, saying that she needs to "resolve" some things with the Managing Principal (who I am now an assistant to) so we're going to need to reschedule again, but this time she moves it to Monday. I am now freaking out. What would they need to resolve? What did I do wrong? Come to find out, the MP forgot to send in comments (the whole office gets the opportunity to comment about other employees before their reviews) to my supervisor so she was just waiting on those. No need to stress! :)
Monday morning finally rolls around and once again I start getting nervous. Come to find out, there was no need to be nervous at all! I had such a great review. I was told that the company couldn't function without me. Now, lets be honest, it really can, but it was still a huge complement!! I was told that one of the things that I need to work on is my confidence. They said "Lindsay should have more confidence in the excellent skill set she has." I would totally have to agree with this one. I sometimes don't have the confidence that I probably should, especially since I've been working with the company for over 4 years. I guess with all the new and more important responsibilities I've recently gotten, I do sometimes let the work get the best of me.

#2. If you go back to a post MANY months ago I was telling everyone that I was going to go on a very strict diet due to some bad bacteria in my intestines. We'll I finally started the diet... :) I don't know what took me so long to do it, but it did. I finally got to the point where I was SO uncomfortable in my body and I was also sick and tired of being in so much pain I decided to do a diet to help. I had been pain free for 6 weeks...until today. I'm not complaining though because I was having pain many times a month, and now I'm down to 1 time in a month and a half...NOT BAD! :)

This was the day I started the diet. I didn't realize how much I had lost in my face until I saw this picture today

This was a few weeks ago. My roommate told me I had to go buy new pants because mine just looked funny and too baggy on me

This is me today. 25 pounds down...many more to go!

So why would I need motivation for two things that I've been really happy with?! Work has been pretty slow the past few weeks and I have the hardest time getting out of bed and driving 45 miles to get to work and be really slow. I need to remember how good my review was and all the great things people said about me. I don't want their opinions to change because work is slow and so it makes it hard to go and sit at my desk for 8 hours. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is having a hard time being motivated right now since just about the whole office is slow. Thank goodness for a proposal that I'm starting to work on tomorrow that will keep me nice and busy for a week :)

As for the weight loss...I NEVER want to get back to where I was. I'm starting to feel more comfortable with myself , I've been a lot happier lately, and I've been pretty much pain free. Plus, so far, that's 25 pounds that I wont have to carry around with me while I'm training for the Ragnar Relay and the Mud Run. I hope to get down more, but I'm happy with the start I've gotten!!

Bowling

In December my Ward did an auction and all of the money that we raised was used to buy Christmas presents for families in need. One of the things that Kallie (my roommate) won was a group date with some guys in the Ward to go ice skating and then get hot chocolate afterwards.
Plans changed when we got to the ice skating rink and we had an hour and a half until we could get on the ice. The guys decided they would take us bowling and then we'd go ice skating another night. I think things worked out pretty awesome last night though, because we all had such a great time! We didn't know these guys very well and getting to know them better was so much fun! We all were laughing the whole entire time...especially when we tried to fit all 8 of us into a small photo booth to get our picture...which didn't work too well, but the pictures are hilarious!
We played 2 games and the first game was guys vs girls and who ever lost had to buy the other team frozen yogurt. The first game the guys kicked our butts! I wish we would have made the bet on the second game because then the scores would have been a lot closer! :)
We had so much fun with these guys that we're going to do something with them again this week. I'm so glad Kallie won this "date" at the auction because its been great getting to know these guys more! That's my "at least you could try" look. Matt was just trying to make us girls feel good :)

All of the guys and Sara. Ghent was too busy watching Kallie bowl because they were neck and neck...Kallie won though

The 4 lucky girls that got to go

I had the top score out of all 8 of us on the second game. The next person under me was one of the guys with a 107

The whole group

The Happiest Place On Earth

I was able to stay home an extra day this week and go to Disneyland with Mom, Kelly and Aubrey. It was so much fun being with the girls and seeing Disneyland through Aubrey's eyes.
Thanks for letting me join your day of fun at Disneyland!
