Going Private

Unfortunately, I have to go private.  It's something that I kind of don't want to do, but it's something that I have to do.  Please send me your e-mail in a comment, text or e-mail so I can add you.  Thanks!

Out of Africa

I went down to Pinetop, AZ with a few friends this past weekend for a fun and relaxing weekend away. There are way too many pictures for one post, so I'll do it by days :)

On our first day in AZ we drove to a Wildlife Park called Out of Africa, that I thought was pretty cool!!  Not only was I excited to go to a park where you can get up close and personal with the animals, that are all from Africa, but I was also meeting my friend Shanan there, who I haven't seen in WAY too long!

First thing to do..Go on a "safari" through some of the park.  Here are some of the animals that we got to see.
Mr. Giraffe (don't remember his name) wanted nothing to do with us.  We all had carrots in our hands to feed to him, but he wasn't having it.
The Zebras were really fun to watch and were next to see on our little safari.  We weren't able to feed them and the picture above shows why.  They have some nasty teeth, which would end up in one nasty bite
I think white tigers are so pretty!! I wish I could have gotten a closer picture of him.

We got to feed the bottomless pit camel.  They had to put him in a fenced area because he seemed to get a little too wild for the rest of the animals.  The workers at the park put holes in the fence so we could still feed him though
Next thing we did at the park was the Tiger Splash show.  This was the show that I was most excited about for the day.  The tigers that they use for the show are not trained at all, they have just gotten comfortable around all of the employees.
All of the girls except Brynn on the tram ride up to the show

Meet Boom Boom. We met him on our tram ride up the the Tiger Splash show.  Our tram driver loved and adored Boom Boom!! When Boom Boom  heard the tram drivers voice his ears would move and he acknowledged that we were there.

This show was pretty entertaining to watch.  The employees would hop in the water with the tigers, throw the toys to make the tigers jump for them and they even played tug-o-war..which they lost. :)

After the show we walked around to get a closer look at the other animals and to also watch the feeding of the animals. There were lions and tigers and bears, OH MY! :) There were also, cougars, laughing hyenas, snakes, ostriches, etc.

If you ever are in or near Camp Verde, AZ this is a really fun place to go!! I'm so glad we made the drive and I'm also so glad that I got to see Shanan!!

After a picnic at the park and a 3 hour drive home, it was hot tub time!! How could you pass up such a nice big hot tub at the resort?

Day 2 in Pinetop, AZ

Day two was SO relaxing!!  We all woke up and made a yummy breakfast, I went on a run, and we then we spent most of the day laying out and having MANY races and competitions in the pool as well as bbqing a yummy lunch

After being in the sun all day (dad would have put me on sun restriction :-P ) we all got ready to go out and have a lot more fun!  We went and played mini golf, raced on a slick track, and then went out to have a yummy dinner. I loved how fun and relaxing Saturday was!

FREAKING OUT!

I have two races coming up in June.  I have the Mud Run on June 5th at Camp Pendleton in California and I also have the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay on June 18th and 19th.  I am REALLY starting to freak out about these two races coming up.  I don't feel ready AT ALL and I only have a 2 weeks until the first race.  I need something to kick my butt into better shape and I need it FAST!!!  The path I've been running lately is a slight climb and it has kicked my butt.  I'm hoping that kicking my butt on a daily basis will help.  Lets keep our fingers crossed that I don't die in these next two races!!!

Pre-Wedding Bonfire

The night before Stephen and Anna's wedding we had a bonfire with everyone that was already in town.  We roasted hot dogs for dinner and s'mores for dessert.  I think we all had a fun time spending time with each other and also getting to know the other family better

Beach Fun

About 15 minutes after Doug, Heather, me and the kids arrived to California, Doug and I were walking out the door with the kids to go to the beach.  The weather was perfect, so of course we couldn't pass it up!  It's been a long time since Elizabeth has been to the beach and it was Andrew's first time.  The kids LOVED the water!!  It was really hard to get them out to go home.  I love the beach, but it was even better being there with the kids and seeing the excitement in their eyes!

Bridal Shower Weekend

My mom, Kelly and Aubrey came up this weekend for a few days, which I loved!!  I always love when family comes into town to visit.  While they were here we got a lot of wedding errands accomplished and also had Anna's bridal shower.  Even though we didn't get to do very many "fun" things, I still had a great time with them here!  I can't wait to go home in a few days for the wedding and to spend it with even more family!
